德昌油行，一間位於台南白河，傳承三代的油行，主要產品是100%純原料冷壓製作的胡麻油及苦茶油。年輕一代接手後，希望除了現有的菜籃族消費者以外，也能將產品推廣到年輕的族群，因此請早起幫忙做品牌再造，為老品牌注入新樣貌。
由於德昌位於白河，因此客戶希望可以將發源地「白河」的特色「荷花」作為品牌形象的主要元素之一，搭配產品的特色呈現。在詮釋白河的特色時，由於目標客群年輕化，選擇了「荷葉」及「蓮蓬」來取代蓮花作為主要元素，並以簡約手繪的線條描繪，營造出荷花群隨風擺動的清新樣貌，並搭配產品原料-苦茶籽、芝麻、花生，搭配帶有親民手感的手繪字，使整體視覺呈現清新樸實感。品牌主色則選擇了朱色，一方面延伸了原德昌logo的紅色，另一方面也有所創新，替新包裝和品牌創造同時有傳承也有創新的效果。
De Chang Oil Mill, a family-owned business in Baihe, Tainan, sought Matinal Design Office's help to refresh their brand while honoring their heritage. The goal was to appeal to a younger demographic without losing their traditional roots.
The design features minimalist, hand-drawn illustrations of lotus leaves and seed pods, symbolizing Baihe's iconic lotus flowers. These elements, along with illustrations of camellia seeds, sesame, and peanuts, create a fresh, artisanal aesthetic. The color palette incorporates vermilion, blending the original red of De Chang’s logo with a modern twist. Handwritten typography adds a warm, approachable touch, seamlessly merging tradition with contemporary design.
